You don’t need to be keen-eyed to have noticed that Fluval has given its packaging a vibrant modern twist and brought out some new ranges in fish nutrition and water chemistry. It also has a fantastic (yes I avoided the temptation to say fin-tastic) new website which can be found at the end of this article. Fluval has replaced its previous look with a new clean and simple style that wouldn’t look out of place in a Danish furniture exhibition.
As part of their rejuvenation, Fluval has launched a range of fish foods including Tropical, Goldfish, Cichlid, Colour-enhancing and Vegetarian, all of which come in both flake and sinking pellet form and vary natural ingredients according to the needs of the fish they cater for. The colour enhancer, for example, has a higher percentage of krill whereas the cichlid food boasts the inclusion of earthworm meal.
What the foods all have in common, however, is their competent and responsible constitution that ensures their quality and the health of aquarium fish. The entire range contains a good variety of proteins as well as vitamins and minerals that contribute to many aspects of fish health. these are joined by salmon oil for maintaining skin condition and sustainably-sourced kelp. What you won’t find in any of these foods are artificial colourings, which serve no purpose in the aquarium.
These products stand out on the shelves and are reasonably priced too, meaning there’s little money to be saved buying lower quality alternatives.
